Why can’t I send emails as Sysadmin?

This can have several causes. Some of those are listed below.

The email setup cannot be completed.

If the account cannot be linked. First, check that the port is set to 465 (NOT 587).

Also check, that the “Installation URL” in “Sysadmin Panel” → “Server” is set to the complete URL of the installation, e.g. https://elabftw.example.org.

Users cannot reset passwords via the provided links.

If the installation URL is not set to the complete URL of the installation, e.g. https://elabftw.example.org, in the “Installation URL” in “Sysadmin Panel” → “Server”, password reset links can be malformed. Enter the URL of your installation to prevent this.

Can I add line breaks to announcement messages?

Linebreaks can be added using <br>:

First line <br> second line.

would render as
